HOMEWelcome to the Home of The Erie County Alumni Club where we challenge you to help us make Ohio State stronger.![]() Updated September 30, 2011 Our Erie County Alumni Club is now celebrating its 50th year in existence! Thank you to all who have served this great organization previously, especially immediate past president Neill Ann Hancock who did a fantastic job over the past three years. She has taken this club to new heights, earning us a Gold Star and herself a Best Buckeye Award! Our bar is set high for the 2011-12 year and I’m sure we will have a great year and great fun in achieving our goals. We had our annual meeting on May 25th with a great crowd present to hear Coach Earle Bruce speak and pump us up for another Buckeye football season, which will be interesting to say the least. After the golf outing, which was cut short by weather, we all gathered in the men’s locker room at Plum Brook Country Club to warm up and wait out tornado warnings. Then our Erie County Alumni Band entertained us before dinner. As always, thanks go out to them! The scholarship committee had a tough time selecting from all the excellent incoming freshman Ohio State students in Erie county and we’re very happy with their choices. Please see the scholarship page to read about our recipients. We have enjoyed a good summer including concerts by our Erie County Alumni Band at both the Huron Boat Basin and at the Washington Park gazebo in downtown Sandusky. Thank you to the entire band and keep up the wonderful work that you do!The 2011 Alumni Leaders Conference was Friday September 23 and I attended and received our Gold Star award. There were several excellent seminars which gave us good ideas and guidance for improving what is already an excellent alumni club.
